The BIG MINIDV FESTIVAL is a two-day event hosted by the Media Arts Department of Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus. The festival will recognize the best documentary, experimental, and narrative long and short form video productions, being created with the MiniDV format, along with three new categories: Super Shorts and Screenplays (short and feature-length).
With our ninth festival we hope to further encourage filmmakers of all genres and technical levels to submit their videos, and again make this year's festival an exciting array of independent video.
This event is supported by a grant from Long Island University's John P. McGrath Fund. Further support is provided by Screenplay.com, Current and Third World NewsReel.
The Bather will screen at 2:40 on sat., 13th

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
