Event Description

BALLET ACADEMY EAST announces auditions for the 2013-2014 Pre-Professional Division, for students aged 7-18, to be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 and Monday, September 16, 2013 at Ballet Academy East, 1651 Third Avenue, 3rd floor, New York, NY 10128, between 92nd and 93rd Streets.  Dancers will be separated into groups upon arrival.  To apply to attend an audition, visit www.baenyc.com, click on “Pre-Professional Division” and follow the online instructions, call 212-410-9140, or send an email to info@baenyc.com.  Eight new full-year tuition scholarships are now available for male students, beginning this year.

 

BAE’s alumni include such dancers as Ian Bethany, Ballet Austin; Candace Bouchard, Oregon Ballet Theatre; Kendall Britt, Ballet Memphis; Puanani Brown, American Ballet Theatre; Devon Carbone, Bavarian State Ballet II; Alexander Castillo, Los Angeles Ballet, soloist; Trevor Felixbrod, Alabama Ballet; Chase Finlay, New York City Ballet, principal dancer; Dagny Hanrahan, Sarasota Ballet; Olivia Lipnick, Washington Ballet Studio Company; Hannah Marshall, ABT Studio Company; Christopher McDaniel, Los Angeles Ballet; Erica Pereira, New York City Ballet; Kerri Riccardi, BalletMet; Ariel Rose, Miami City Ballet; Chloé Sherman, Los Angeles Ballet; Alissa Stover, Ballett Ulm; Katie Vasilopoulos, Nashville Ballet; Laura Wolfe, Kansas City Ballet; among others.

 

About Ballet Academy East

Ballet Academy East trains dancers for professional careers in ballet. The faculty is led by Associate Artistic Director Darla Hoover and includes Maxim Beloserkovsky, Cynthia Birdwell, Olga Dvorovenko, Peter Frame, Jenna Lavin, Joseph Malbrough, Tara Mora, Francis Patrelle, Elizabeth Walker and Cheryl Yeager. The comprehensive syllabus was created by Darla Hoover and is designed to develop technically strong, expressive ballet dancers, who ultimately can adapt to any style. The curriculum includes technique classes, pointe, partnering, variations, stretch, men’s weight training, modern and character. Performing opportunities include two annual productions: the Studio Showing in February and the Spring Performance in May. The director and founder of Ballet Academy East is Julia Dubno.
