Anomic Multimedia Theatre is now planning a new project for 2011!
We will be auditioning performers on Saturday 4th December 2010, 9.30am – 6pm.
We are working with some of the UK’s major arts organisations to build a project that can become a flagship production for Anomic, helping us to establish ourselves as one of ...the countries key producers of contemporary multimedia performance.
This is a long-term project that will be developed throughout 2011 and beyond.
This project will begin with the development and presentation of a 25 minute micro performance called “Leave only footprints”. This will be presented at festivals during the first six months of 2011.
The project will then move on to producing a full scale production later in the year called Efrafa. For details of these please visit our website: http://www.anomic.co.uk/21.html
We are currently auditioning for stage one of this production. Other stages can be found on our website.
Stage one: R&D and performance Showcase (choreography)This will be a period of approximately 10 days in January. During this stage the cast will develop their characters and some of the initial choreography and blocking will be rehearsed. This will conclude with a performance at The Robin Howard Dance Theatre as part of the Resolution! Festival on the 28th Jan. For this stage each performer will be paid a fixed fee of £500 and accommodation and travel to the performance will be provided by Anomic.
Anomic are looking to recruit four exceptional performers with strong physical and vocal technique.
The performance is driven by the characters whose emotions/relationships/situations are all represented through their physicality. So if you are an actor with good dance skills or a dancer with good acting skills then this is the job for you!
For this project, Anomic wants to recruit performers who have a unique, bold and distinctive performance style.
We are looking for:
A female performer aged (or who looks) 30/40 years old.
A male performer aged (or who looks) 25/35 years old.
A female performer aged (or who looks) 18/25 years old.
A male performer aged (or who looks) 18/28 years old.
Some brief nudity is involved with all of the roles but no full frontal nudity will be required for the performance. Some filming or photographic work associated with the performance may require some nudity. If you would like further information about this please contact us at casting@anomic.co.uk.
The audition will be divided into two distinct activities.
1) In the morning candidates will be split into four groups. Each group will do a short class, learn some rep from the show and take part in some improvisation.
2) Shortlisted candidates from each group will then be asked to take part in a workshop in the afternoon.
Although the performers who are cast for the first performance in January will not necessarily be recast for the main performance project later in the year, it is anticipated (and hoped) that we can establish a team for the duration of the project.
It is strongly advised that you look at the company website, and make yourself familiar with our style of work before you apply.
Anomic can not reimburse any travel or accommodation costs for this audition – sorry!
Please send photographs (preferably one headshot and one full length) and C to casting@anomic.co.uk, the audition will take place on Saturday 4th December 2010 9.30am – 6pm in Norwich.
Deadline for applications is midnight on the 20th Nov.
Places are limited and will be by invitation only.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
