Two weekend workshops : Saturday 21st to Sunday 22nd April & Saturday 12th May to Sunday 13th May 2012
Held in the beinghuman warehouse - a beautiful restored Victorian warehouse in Frome, Somerset - the self titled, "Cultural Town Of Britain".
The weekends are an opportunity to spend some time away, focused on your business in a supporting , creative environment.
21-22 April 2012 - Business Start Up For Artists, Designers & The Cultural Industries
Weekend Course, 10.00 - 16.00
£150 or £200 with 2 nights basic dorm accommodation
This course is for artists, designers, makers, photographers & crafts people who wish to knoW the basics of setting up as self employed. This short course is ideal for anyone who is thinking about starting out or has already done so & needs more guidance.
This will give an overview of where to find sources of support, how to start trading, trends, markets & self promotion. Other key topics include key legal issues, business bank accounts, money management, taxation & invoicing.

12-13 May 2013 - Entrepreneurship for Artists, Designers & The Cultural Industries

This aims to assist in developing a range of inter personal skills & practical enterprise skills to help you profit from opportunity.
Over the 2 days you will learn what makes a creative entrepreneur, how to focus & think creatively about future business opportunities. Other practical skills include being able to negotiate with clients, improve your presentation skills, generate imaginative publicity ideas & discover how to sell.

Alison Branagan is an author, arts consultant & lecturer at Central St Martins. She has been creating workshops in business, enterprise & self promotion for artists for more than a decade.
She is an associate of the Design Trust and Hidden Art. Her publications include, ‘The Essential Guide to BUsiness for Artists & Designers, ‘A Pocket Business Guide for Artists & Designers’ & ‘Making Sense Of Business’.
