UPSTART FESTIVAL 2010 at BAX | Brooklyn Arts Exchange
BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange's UPSTART FESTIVAL, curated by renowned choreographers Shannon Hummel and Monica Bill Barnes, offers new choreographers the opportunity to develop and show work and create connections between one another. This festival, now in its second year, features 12 - 14 dance artists over three nights and focuses on choreographers with no more than three years experience showing choreography in NYC. In addition to performance, Upstart provides a modest stipend for each choreographer and an open round table event for participants to network with one another.
You MAY NOT apply if you participated in the 2008 Upstart festival.
There are a few audition slots still open. Please call as soon as possible. Slots will be filled on a first-come/first-served basis.
For more information, visit http://bax.org/performances-events/professional/upstart-festival/.
Live auditions will be held Saturday, January 9, 4:30-7:30pm and Sunday, January 10 3-9 pm at BAX.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
