The program:
With her trio "Ghosts," Sperling transports the billowing undulations and iridescent illuminations of modern-dance pioneer Loie Fuller into an experimental 21st-century context. Sperling’s "Bang for the Buck" is a comic circus-collage that probes the relationship between a performer’s effort and the audience’s “payoff.”
Students from Barnard College guest to perform Sperling’s delightful "Ballet of Light," a retake on Loie Fuller's original 1908 work. This cinematic spectacle takes the viewer on a geographic voyage through the sea, the frozen north, blazing fires, the heavens and finally into a garden of butterflies. Rounding out the program is a revival of Sperling’s trio "A Leg Up," which riffs on the exuberant antics of acrobats and contortionists captured in early films.

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
