Audition Announcement
Seen Performance seeks 4 women dancers/performers for future productions of their show on the other side of the glass plate, she wore nothing. Please read about the project at http://seenperformance.org/otherside.
We are looking for women with previous movement (dance or otherwise) and performance experience. We want to work with women who are eager to contribute ideas in the process of exploring subtlety and presence in their performances.
"Girl 2" - seeking 1 woman with strong performance presence and experience. This role demands attention to subtle details of posture, facial expression, and small gestures.
"FOH Ladies" 1, 2, + 3 - seeking 3 women with solid contemporary dance experience, a flair for fashion, and an ease with speaking, mingling, and commanding the attention of a crowd. These women will act as a group, interacting with the audience and setting the tone for the piece.
Weekly rehearsals will begin as soon as the roles are cast. We have performances in early September (for which we'd love our new cast to be ready, but it's not essential), with additional shows to be scheduled later in the year.
A small stipend may be available for performances. Other compensation includes free modern dance classes in LIC with Esther Palmer (starting 9/08).
To make an audition appointment, please email me (esther at seenperformance.org) with a brief statement about your performing background and your interest in the piece, along with any questions you may have.
Please share with anyone you know who might be interested.
Many thanks!
Esther

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
