About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..:
Neta Pulvermacher co-founded The Neta Dance Company (aka House of Dance, Inc) with her Julliard classmates Ani Udovicki, Stephanie Tooman, Kraig Patterson, and Andrea Feier in 1986. The company has toured throughout the US, Israel (Israel Festival), Poland (Krakow 2000 and The International Festival of Modern Dance in Bytom 1998, 1999, 2000), Costa Rica (The Costa Rica International Arts Festival 2002), Canada, and Belarus. In New York, the company has been presented by Dance Theater Workshop, Danspace Project, The Joyce Theater, Central Park’s SummerStage, the 91st Street Playhouse, The Kitchen, The Ohio Theater, The Flea Theater, Merkin Concert Hall, Symphony Space, and many other venues. The company enjoyed month-long runs in 2001 and 2004 at the Flea Theater, and in 2005, the company celebrated a two-program retrospective for twenty years of artistic exploration. Most recently, the company has engaged students at Roger Williams University, University of Florida, and the American Dance Festival; audiences at Dance New Amsterdam MIT, The JCC of Stamford, ACDFA Conference; and social networks across the web. In January 2009, the company previewed its New York season at the 92nd St. Y's Sundays at Three Program.

Areas of interest on performance and new media
Neta envisions a comprehensive theatrical art form that approximates how the mind perceives reality (true or imagined), including the chaos inherent in our contemporary existence. By re-thinking the traditional division of labor between visual artists, musicians, media-makers and performers, The Neta Dance Company strives to create a new cinematic language that merges movement, music, symbolism, images and spoken language, giving an expression to the human experience and condition.

Fold, to premiere in February, took inspiration from the CERN Project, "Folding Architecture," origami, creative theory, among many other things. It also was created in residence in part at MIT where conversations with scientists and other professionals proved fruitful and guiding for the dance work.
